Sir Winston Churchill was a British political leader who was the Prime Minister of the UK from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. When two years out of Parliament, he served as Chancellor of the Exchequer in Baldwin’s Conservative government of 1924–1929, polemically returning the British pound in 1925 to the gold standard at its pre-war parity, a move wide seen as making deflationary pressure on the United Kingdom economy.

On April ninth in 1963, Winston Churchill became the person to become an honorary national of the u. s., though this was the primary time Congress had resolved that it was to be presented by the President of the u. s., on a foreign national – he was granted citizenship of eight individual states as a prelude: – Hawaii, Maryland, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Mountain State.
